Ever since Britney shaved her ‘do and fell out of the spotlight, taking turn-of-the-millennium midriff-baring tops with her, I’ve been dreading the day when crop-tops would come back into fashion. Well, it’s not looking good, because some stars’ belly buttons are coming out.
Taylor Momsen wore this black bustier top under a leather jacket when she performed at the launch of Madonna’s Material Girl clothing line in NYC (left). Luckily, Ashley Greene doesn’t have the same dazzling reaction in the sun that her Twilight character Alice does. She wore this skin-exposing tank top while out for a walk in the Big Apple (right).
Not ready to bare it all? Model Caroline D’Amore and English singer Diana Vickers leave just a little room for skin in between their crop-tops and floral skirts. D’Amore wore an oversized cropped tank in West Hollywood (left) and Vickers tied up her tee as she left MTV Studios in London (right).
It remains to be seen whether midriffs are back. I, for one, won’t start doing crunches just yet…
