John Galliano S/S 2011 2011: Paris Fashion Week

John Galliano is inspired by the most peculiar people and places, which is probably why his collections end up being creative masterpieces. This season, his muse was the late 1920s “actress” named Maria Lani, who infiltrated the Paris art scene. Over a two year period, she convinced over 50 artists to paint her portrait on the pretext that they would be used in a horror movie in which she was starring, about paintings that came to life. Instead, the movie never came to fruition, and she fled to America with the works that never sold.

Two white organza gowns with intricate beading and feathers were the major red carpet show stoppers.
