Take a look at the sustainable and luxurious brand Kristinit, and you will think twice about clothing designed with our earth in mind. The Kristinit collection opened the Green Initiative Humanitarian Fashion Show, and was designed by Kristina Lenss.
Lenss is a graduate of UCLA. She studied costume design and has a widespread background which includes theater, opera, film, commercials, ballet, and illustration.
With her latest ready-to-wear Spring/Summer 2011 collection, her background in theatrical design created a subtle and chic aesthetic.
Her elegant yet casual collection—created using only innovative and organic fabrics, local manufacturing, and fair trade practices—expresses a more modern side of the designer’s creative outlook.
Her latest collection used pretty pastels and bold shots of bright color. Her pieces featured sweet feminine details—like bows on the front of dresses and jackets—and delicate silhouettes and intricate draping in unexpected places. Overall, it is perfect for today’s young working woman who wants to add romance to her wardrobe, as well as be environmentally conscious. This is a look we can definitely get behind.
