If wearing contrasting prints is going to be a huge trend for Spring, It’s going to be an even bigger one for Fall, as exhibited by the Rag & Bone Fall 2011 collection. The collegiate feel was obvious in the varsity-inspired jackets and the soccer kneepad leg warmers; a sporty prep girl style with lots of bright color, including pops of red and electric blue; plaids and striped prints were paired with colorful solids for an Oxford girl-gone-bad look.

While the majority of the collection had a vintage, Ivy League feel, some of the looks seemed completely modern and out of this world. Monochromatic dresses in white were a little space agey compared to the other scholarly looks, but they added variety to the lineup.

Some of the key pieces included schoolgirl skirts in grey and tailored wool jackets in soft colors. A few coat styles had fur collar embellishments and others were shown in a preppy tweed. Overall, these were the standout pieces of the collection and will probably be the most wearable for the ready-to-wear market.
