If Seth Aaron’s name rings a bell it’s probably because he won “Project Runway” with his Fall 2010 collection and if you happen to catch his Fashion Week debut last year his lineup this season will look very familiar. With a near identical color palette, very similar silhouettes, and even some of the same prints, Aaron’s Fall 2011 showed little in the way of the unexpected.
That said, given that the designer’s Fall 2010 collection was never produced for a mass-market audience, this season’s pieces will give Aaron’s fans a chance to buy one of his designs, that is to say if buyers express any interest. The collection had a military-meets-punk vibe to it with 40s- and 60s-inspired shapes that focused on accentuating curves and hugging the body without exposing too much skin. Most of the collection was done in red, white, and black with a recurring black and white pattern that the designers used in his collection last Fall. Most pieces were done in a mix of wool, cotton, аnԁ leather and Aaron is aiming for price points in the $400-and-up range.
One thing’s for sure after seeing this collection it’s hard not to have tremendous respect for the creative talent and business savvy that Christian Siriano has shown since winning his “Project Runway” season.
