Charcoal-eyed models walked the Gucci runway in slinky drop waist dresses, many of which echoed the 20s flapper silhouette, boxy day jackets, and loose trousers in a collection of Art Deco-inspired looks that stayed true to the brand’s penchant for sex appeal (think very large angular cut-outs in the back of dresses). Color-wise, the Frida Giannini-designed collection was nearly a complete reversal of the Spring 2011 one where Giannini limited herself to a mostly neutral palette with hints of color blocked saturated jewel tones. This season, the designer stuck to a Fall-like palette that was heavy on black with just a few notes of color.
