Where: The premiere of Bachelorette
Why we like it: Sometimes it’s difficult to find a quick and easy look that’s still fresh and polished. With a pretty pink lip and subtly lined eyes, Kirsten Dusts gives us some great back to school beauty inspiration.
How to get it at home: Start with a radiance boosting foundation, such as YSL’s Le Teint Touche Eclat Illuminating Foundation SPF 19, $55, which is the big sister product to the famous Touche Eclat highlighting pen. This is a perfect daytime foundation because you get a bit of SPF and a bit of coverage without a mask-like finish. Cover any imperfections or redness with a creamy concealer, such as Shiseido’s Natural Finish Cream Concealer, $25, and buff it well into the areas you need for a flawless finish. To get Kirsten’s subtle flush, apply a rosy blush, such as Guerlain’s Rose Aux Joues in Chic Pink, $50. Mix the two colors together for a natural look or you can use the lighter shade as a highlighter for a more sculpted cheek.
Kirsten’s eyes are very simple and you can make them even more simple. If you have an uneven lid, try applying a neutral shadow to even it out, otherwise move straight onto the liner. You could use a brown shadow if that’s your preference but we like a liner because of the ease of application. Try Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition, $19. Our tip for getting natural looking liner is to hold it horizontal along your eye, rest it on your lashes, and drag the pencil across making the line slightly thicker towards the outer corner. This will give a much lighter line that’s close to the lash line. You can blend with your finger for a softer effect. Finish off your eyes with a black (or brown) mascara, such as Korres’ Volcanic Minerals Volumizing Mascara, $20, which gives your lashes a big boost without looking artificial.
While it’s clear that Kirsten’s wearing a more opaque lipstick, try YSL’s Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm Crystal Color in Lucious Cherry, $30, if you’re adapting this look for back to school. This will give you the same color effect but you don’t need to worry as much about reapplying because it will wear off your lips like any balm.
