Affirming their status as Canadian rock royalty, Avril Lavigne (the better half of Chavril) donned a crown of thorns/spikes for her first red Canadian carpet appearance with Nickelback frontman and fiancé Chad Kroeger. The duo complemented each other in matching black ensembles, not unlike their recent Billboard appearance, albeit with an added Statue of Liberty vibe coming from Avril.
Meanwhile, Pretty Little Liars star and homegrown beauty Shay Mitchell was one of the evening’s most anticipated attendees, turning up in this graphic paisley print pencil skirt and matching crop. It was a hit for the warm summer evening, but further proving her fashion cred, Shay recently landed a beautiful cover photo on the front of Elle Canada.
Demi Lovato was the night’s most entertaining performer, filling the stage with flames and clouds of smoke as she brought a “Heart Attack” to the audience. For her red carpet walk, she kept things simple in a black, boxed-shoulder bodycon mini with sequin details, while letting her toned legs do the walking and talking.
Finally, though her onstage appearance lasted less than five minutes, Taylor Swift turned heads in her white bandage dress with black piping detail, which she teamed with black gladiator booties. Not sure if this is yet another revenge dress, but the girl does look smoking.
