Who: Gia Coppola
Where: 2014 Tribeca Film Festival Alex Of Venice premiere
Why we like it: As the weather gets warmer, we tend to simplify our beauty routines. Rather than worry about melting foundation, or worse, melting brows (eek!), we think you should summer-proof your makeup. We love this look on Gia Coppola because it proves that simple doesn’t have to be boring and that you can easily rock a bright gloss and defined eye for evening.
How to get it at home: The only way a simple summer beauty routine works is if you take care of your skin beforehand. We like to use a few drops of facial oil under our makeup to give a serious moisture boost and that dewy finish. It may seem counter-productive to add oil to the skin, but trust us when we say that even girls with oily or combination skin can benefit.
On to the color. Start your look with a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, such as Dior’s Hydra Life BB Creme Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($56), and be sure to blend it well into the skin and neck. One oft-underestimated problem in summer is smudging your brows, but that doesn’t mean your face should be left unframed. We love Anastasia’s DIPBROW Pomade ($18), which is a waterproof formula that will keep your brows defined and in place all day.
Next, line your eyes with a soft pencil, such as Urban Decay’s 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil ($20), but be sure to keep the line soft. If you think it’s too dark, try smudging with your finger or a cotton bud. If you’re willing to go the full mile with this look, leave your mascara behind, but since many women see it as their beauty savior, we won’t hold it against you if you give in. Finish your look with a bright coral gloss, such as Buxom’s Full-On Lip Polish in Debbie ($19).
