Mixing opulent staples with more personality-driven statement pieces, Judith & Charles’ new line introduces tonal jacquard, cloque and bonded jersey. Luxury fabrics like alpaca, cashmere, silk and pony hair are tastefully sprinkled through key outerwear pieces, while silk and a wealth of leather make up the bulk of fabric.
Founded by duo Judith Richardson and Charles Le Pierrès, the brand first began its life in Montreal as Teenflo, but has since gained international appeal. It’s best known for its Italian yarns, the importance of fit and minimalistic styling (which really comes to the forefront this season), while keeping much of the craftsmanship locally-based.
What I love about the fall collection is how versatile the sophisticated tailoring appears. The strictly monochromatic palette basically allows you to awaken bleary eyes and pull out any two or three pieces that are sure to go together. As someone who’s soon hoping to declutter and minimize their closet, I’m sold on kitting it out with just the brand’s svelte pencil skirts, polished shift dresses, mock turtlenecks and structured jackets.

The Jarden wool jacket with its leather arms is pricey at $525, but just think how many ways you could wear such a piece. Meanwhile, pieces like the $425 Duncan dress are all-round crowd-pleasers, doubling as an accompaniment for daily duties as well as nightly debauchery, with the quick addition of a statement necklace.
