Matthew Kerr Quits KORA Organics, Miranda Kerr’s Skincare Brand

Miranda Kerr‘s little brother, Matthew “Matty” Kerr, has quit his role at the Australian supermodel’s skincare brand, KORA Organics. He wraps up work there this Friday.

Sydney Confidential reports that Matthew has moved on from KORA Organics in order to open up a family restaurant in the Hunter Valley, managed by himself and fiancé James Wright.

The venture will take over Emma’s of Lovedale on Wilderness Road and be renamed to Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen, inspired by Matt and Miranda’s grandmother, Anne, whose Gunnedah home was destroyed by a fire in 2011.

James, who has also quit his consultant job to work on Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen full-time, told Sydney Confidential, “It’s a nod to Nan Kerr’s kitchen, which was the hub of the family meeting place for so long.”

He continued, “That is what Matt is out to recreate, somewhere the family can come to and certainly it would be great for family occasions and all of that stuff. Our foodie vision is to create somewhere that is really homely and pays homage to nans all over Australia and the world with our food memories from our childhood and play into that.”

We think something like this will definitely be Miranda’s cup of tea, especially the Royal Albert crockery to be used at the restaurant. She’s an ambassador for the brand. Plus, Miranda’s totally supportive of the entire venture, even if it means she loses another family member in her business.

“It’s got Miranda’s full seal of approval, we obviously told her before Matty resigned from KORA Organics and she gave it the thumbs up,” James said. “Miranda is very passionate about people following their dreams and that was lovely to have her backing.”

Matthew isn’t the first Kerr to quit Miranda’s beauty venture, with mother Therese Kerr also quitting her general manger and CFO role to start her own line of certified organic products, Divine by Therese Kerr.

Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen is set to open on August 6, 2015. James and Matthew also plan to wed at the venue in December next year.
