Taking over a whole three floors of the gallery, the exhibition is set to be the ultimate feast for the fashionista featuring a plethora of couture as well as Coco Chanel’s Bijoux de Diamants from 1932. Remember the spectacular frosting at the casino-themed couture show earlier this month? Well, that’s the exact jewellery collection you’ll get to see at the exhibition. It was reissued for the occasion and, quite interestingly, it’s also the only fine jewellery that Coco ever created. So, it’s most definitely a must-see if you’re a fan and stuck for something to do one weekend afternoon.
Like all good exhibitions, Mademoiselle Privé is a journey through the brand’s development over the years and in this case, its couture arm. From Coco’s inspiration to how she redefined dressing for women to Karl Lagerfeld’s influential legacy, this is one exhibition that’s got it all. It’s the perfect way to come to terms with the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition coming to a close.
