ICYMI: Cate Blanchett Transforms Again In the Name of Art

With Cate’s new Vogue Australia cover looking reasonably close to her natural appearance, German magazine Monopol transformed Cate into four starkly different characters on individual covers back in April, with the images resurfacing this month in the lead up to the exhibition.

From a peppy, flame-haired newsreader to a bearded homeless man, a seductive brunette and stern ballet teacher, Cate indulges us with her metamorphosis into vastly different personas. No stranger to flexing her skills in switching up her appearance for her craft, we have no doubt her performances will match the impressive transformation into the characters.

Running through till March, the ACMI explains on their website that the exhibition “questions the role of the artist in society today” and, according to Rosefeldt, acts as a “homage to the beauty of artists’ manifestos”. We can’t wait to see the full results.

Manifesto opens at ACMI December 9, 2015 and shows through to March 13, 2016, with free entry.
