Christopher John Rogers Spring 2020

Christopher John Rogers Wins the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

Already a celebrity favorite (we’re talking Rihanna, Lizzo and even Michelle Obama), Christopher John Rogers keeps making waves. He held his first runway show back in September during the Spring 2020 season sending out voluminous silhouettes with tons of personality. And now the American designer can add CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner to his ever-growing list of accomplishments.

As the winner, Rogers receives a $400,000 prize and a year of mentorship from one of the CFDA’s distinguished members. And he was up against some pretty talented competitors. This year’s runners-up were Danielle Hirsch of bridal line Danielle Frankel (a favorite of Zoë Kravitz) plus menswear and womenswear designer Reese Cooper. Each will receive $150,000 and a year of mentorship.

So who decided which designer deserved the top prize? Judges like Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Paloma Elsesser and Eva Chen helped pick the winner. Rogers joins the ranks of past winners, from Pyer Moss’ Kerby Jean-Raymond to Alexander Wang to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler.

We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to see Rogers’ Fall 2020 collection hit the runway.
