Glossy magazines are continuing to find creative ways to produce content in the midst of the pandemic. For July 2020, some relied on their cover stars and their families to capture images with mixed results. Others opted for professionally-shot and professionally-styled photoshoots. Though it’s unclear if they were all created pre-pandemic.
On the diversity front, there was a lot to love. Not only did we see a wide range of models of color, though we would always love more, we were treated to a set of stunning Ashley Graham covers and some glorious portraits of frontline workers courtesy of British Vogue. Not many mags offered up summery covers. In fact, some seemed more appropriate for fall and winter. But given the current restrictions and all that’s going on in the world, we understand the trend.
Check out the slideshow above to see all the July 2020 magazine covers we loved and loathed.
