Since joining the ranks as a Louis Vuitton brand ambassador back in 2016, the famed French fashion house has undoubtedly gotten its money’s worth out of Léa Seydoux. We’ve witnessed the French actress posing for Craig McDean, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Steven Meisel and even Nicolas Ghesquière. Now Meisel steps back behind the lens to capture the brand’s new Capucines handbag Summer 2022 ads with Marie-Amelie Sauvé taking on styling duties.
Most members of our forums, however, aren’t sold on the outcome. “Not one of the better photos I’ve seen of Léa Seydoux to put it mildly,” voiced an underwhelmed KINGofVERSAILLES.
“Very matronly. This will appeal to nobody,” added GivenchyHomme.
“It’s very mediocre, but very appropriate for a handbag campaign,” reasoned THD96.

“Léa doesn’t look like a cultured woman visiting a famous museum, she looks like she’s taking time out in a random room with the 80s abstract wall patterns you’d get in an old McDonald’s restaurant,” tigerrouge pointed out.
“I think it feels a bit stiff and generic,” critiqued Joromana.
Although not everyone feels the same way. “This is miles better than Léa Seydoux’s previous advertising campaign for Vuitton’s Capucines handbag collection, which was incredibly flat and lifeless. Seydoux has presence here, love the lighting, the pose and the sophisticated monochromatic styling,” admired vogue28.
