Gucci may just be the most talked about brand on the planet right now, and it’s largely due to the buzz surrounding Sabato De Sarno’s debut come Milan Fashion Week, and the event is guaranteed to be the hottest ticket in town. De Sarno’s full vision for the luxury Italian fashion house is yet to be unveiled but the designer has already gifted us a Daria Werbowy campaign for Gucci’s High Jewelry collection and instructs Vittoria Ceretti to team up with photographer David Sims for Gucci’s Fall 2023 advertising campaign (an interim collection designed by Gucci’s in-house design team).
In the studio-shot campaign imagery, set against a muddy green backdrop (which echoes the show space during the Fall 2023 presentation), little was required of Vittoria (and male model Aboubakar Konte) expect for her regal natural beauty as she poses before Sims’ lens throughout the understated and minimalist campaign offering.
The campaign became an instant hit amongst members of our forums. “Oh wow! Vittoria slays!” raved chrisand489.
“Vittoria looks FANTASTIC!” exclaimed WAVES.
“Sick and tired of David Sims having the lead in advertising at the moment, but some of these shots are sublime indeed – all thanks to Vittoria. Always had a soft spot for her, she looks stunning!” voiced aracic.
Yet not everyone was so entirely convinced. “Absolutely no point in doing a campaign if it’s for it to look like this,” complained Thefrenchy.
“That’s one terrible campaign that could have turned out great. I like the clothes, the cast…So here the problem is definitely the photography,” Lola701 complained.
Yasouss commented: “Didn’t care much for the previous maximalist direction, but this looks too parred down, just change the logos and its a Fendi or Dior Men campaign with the drab background. Vittoria really saves it here, but they will need a lot more than this!”
