Since becoming Saint Laurent’s creative director back in 2016, Anthony Vaccarello has most definitely called upon the usual suspects to lens the storied French fashion house’s campaigns. Those faves of the Belgian designer (to name them ALL) have included Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, David Sims, Grey Sorrenti and Juergen Teller. Twenty years has passed since Glen Luchford last captured a Saint Laurent campaign but the British fashion photographer and film direction is back, at the request of Vaccarello for Winter 2023. Models Awar Odhiang, Margaux Lion and Bethany Nagy make up the cast of the campaign, who embody Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent with an effortless ease, captured within the walls of a vast underground space which only adds to the drama and fabulosity.
Members of theFashionSpot forums were left in awe upon checking out Saint Laurent’s latest. “For a campaign that barely shows any of the clothes, it still sells the fantasy well,” admired GoldenPetals.
“I like the set. The dark car parking spaces vibes with clothes, it blends very nicely. I didn’t want to see the Eiffel Tower and French buildings as backgrounds again, I love this,” heralded kikigrape.
“Glorious campaign imagery! Oh so perfect and quintessential Saint Laurent, I am entirely bewitched, besotted and obsessed with every last image. I had become a fan of Juergen Teller’s Saint Laurent campaigns but very much here for Glen Luchford’s take. The change has done wonders, and undoubtedly does Vaccarello’s collection the justice it deserves,” vogue28 raved.
“Absolute yes for Bethany!” chimed in GivenchyAddict, approving of the casting.
