Only Cate Blanchett Could’ve Pulled Off This Ornamental Armani Gown

Cate Blanchett made a royal fashion statement as she arrived for the “Rumours” premiere at the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival. The “Tár” actress chose glamor and style on the red carpet, pulling off an ornamental Armani gown with sheer lace patterns. However, it was the careful beadwork in the lace that became the highlight of her overall look.

Blanchett gave a sheer lace gown a regal twist at the 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain. According to W Magazine, the actress opted for a champagne-toned Armani Privé gown, embellished with pears and sheer lace. Although the gown was see-through in a few places, the detailed patchwork of the lace gave the word “sheer” a whole new meaning. Furthermore, the intricate embroidery from top to bottom drew attention to the champagne gown at the red carpet event.

The gold-gilded lace gown featured a high neck and long sleeves, leaving no room for the actress to flaunt any neckchains or bracelets. However, she did wear a pearl ring. Although the different-sized pearls were an excellent addition, the rich embroidery stole the show with its elaborate floral and leaf patterns throughout the dress. Blanchett, whose blond bob hair seemed to complement the champagne hue of her ornate Armani gown, went with a pointed-toe gold shoe.

Earlier that day, the actress chose a more modern denim-on-denim look for the festival. The outfit was also an Armani creation. The 72nd San Sebastian Film Festival also caught Cate Blanchett in an emotional moment as she received the Donostia Award. Fellow actor George Clooney even sent her a sweet video message before she accepted the honor on September 21, saying, “I want to say that there’s acting as a profession, and then there’s acting as an art, and we recognize that art.” Sharing his pride in calling her “a friend,” the actor explained how he feels “lucky enough” to work alongside someone “so gifted and kind.”
