Who: Freida Pinto
Where: The premiere of Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Why we like it: This is a great example of really highlighting your skin tone and working around what already looks good. Freida’s skin texture looks flawless and the warm brown eye paired with a dark, but not overwhelming, lip color brings out the golden undertones in her skin.
How to get it at home: With a look such as this, it’s always important to prime your skin before you start. In this case, if you can get away with it, use a tinted moisturizer such as Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 – Illuminating $42 as your primer, moisturizer, and base coverage. After applying, go back with an opaque concealer to cover any imperfections. For a subtle cheek flush, try a cream blush such as Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Blush in Nip Slip $25 as you can build the product on your skin.
To get Freida’s warm smoky eye, use an eye shadow palette with a mixture of warm browns and taupes such as Dior’s 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Earth Reflection $59 and line your eyes with a smooth gel liner such as Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner $21 so that you have a well-defined but not harsh looking eye. To finish off the look, apply a semi-shine lipstick such as Bobbi Brown’s Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 in Berry $23.
