Who: Diane Kruger
Where: The Vanity Fair Oscar Party
Why we like it: While her dress may have people on the fence, this bronzed, rosy gold look is perfect for her blue eyes. Rose gold looks great on most skin tones and is a great alternative to a standard smoky eye.
How to get it at home: Start with a medium coverage foundation such as Benefit’s new “Hello Flawless!” Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation $34. This new formula provides great, buildable coverage and you need very little product to get a good finish. Cover any blemishes or flaws with a concealer such as Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage $28, blending it well into a flawless base. Next, use a buildable highlighter such as Jemma Kidd’s Dewy Glow All Over Radiance in Iced Gold $30, which you can also wear under your foundation, and add a glow to the tops of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, and your cupid’s bow. If you have oily skin, use an invisible powder such as Make Up For Ever’s HD Microfinish Powder $30 to set your base.
Groom your brows with a clear mascara or product such as Anastasia’s Brow Gel $21 but don’t add color unless you need to. This is a big trend in brows at the moment and is perfect for women who just need to manage unruly hairs. When you’re using metallic shadows, it’s important to use a shadow primer such as NARS’ Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base $24 which will improve color payoff and limit fall-out. To get Diane’s bronzed rosy eye, use Urban Decay’s YDK shadow, which can be bought individually for $17 or as part of the Naked 2 Palette, $50. If you want more depth, add a warmer gold tone such as Chopper, also found in the Naked 2, to the center of the lid. Be sure to bring the shadow underneath the lash line to get that glowing effect. Finish the eyes with a clumpy mascara such as Dior’s DiorShow $25, and your look is amost done.
Finish your look with a small amount of bronzer or blush such as NARS’ Blush in Douceur $28 and coat your lips in a pigmented gloss such as Buxom’s Big & Healthy Lip Cream Lip Polish in White Russian $18.
