Who: Ginnifer Goodwin
Where: The Young Hollywood Awards
Why we like it: Low maintenance and red carpet very seldom go together but this effortless look on Ginnifer Goodwin combines a punchy bright lip with an otherwise simple look. We also love that she matched her lipstick with her nail color and let her beauty choices become accessories.
How to get it at home: If you’re lucky enough to have even skin like Ginnifer, prep your face with a tinted moisturizer or very sheer foundation, if not, look for a more glowing foundation, such as Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation, $59, which will offer light to medium coverage with a satin finish. Cover any imperfections with a creamy concealer and unless your skin is very oily, leave off the powder. Brush through your eyebrows with a spooly brush and very lightly fill them in with a brow pencil, such as Anastasia’s Brow Wiz, $20, if you need to define them further.
Moving on to the eyes, choose a shimmering cream or powder eye color in a neutral tone, such as bareMinerals’ High Shine Eyecolor in Glisten, $16. Be sure to take a small amount of the product under your lower lash line to give your eyes that glowing effect. With a small liner brush or angled brush, apply a gel liner such as Bobbi Brown’s Long-WearGel Eyeliner in Black Ink, $22, along the upper lash line without adding a flick. You can also apply it along the tightline for added definition. Finish off your eyes with a curling and volumizing mascara, such as Eyeko’s Curvy Brush Mascara $19.
Give your cheek a subtle flush by using a small amount of a pink blush, such as Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Amused, $25. Getting a bright neon lip can be hard, but it might just mean mixing multiple colors. Matte formulations often last longer so try a formula, such as NARS’ Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage, $29. Finish off your look by applying a few coats of Illamasqua’s Nail Varnish in Collide, $14, for a similarly bright pop of pink.
