Why we like it: During the summer we always reach for our brighter shades but it really is the perfect time to try and all-nude look. We love Ciara’s shimmering eye and glossy lips.
How to get it at home: If you’re going to be using a glittery eyeshadow, it’s often better to apply your eye makeup before your base to limit the impact of fall-out. So get Ciara’s bronzed eye by starting with a cream base, such as Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Shadow Pencil in Mushroom ($20). Blend well and layer into the outer corner to create depth. Then go in with a tan or champagne glitter, such as Make Up For Ever’s Glitters in Sand 11 ($15) and focus it on the inner corner. The next step is to define your eyes with a deep black liner, such as Buxom’s Hold The Line Waterproof Eyeliner in Call Me ($17) and top off with a curling and volumizing mascara, such as Make Up For Ever’s new Smoky Extravagant Mascara ($24).
Now, you go in with a matte base, such as Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation ($36), which will not only give you a flawless base on application but all day long because of its rich, waterproof formula. Last but not least, add a gloss, such as Guerlain’s Maxi Shine Lip in Praline Blop 401 ($30), which in spite of its odd color name, will give your lips a perfect peachy nude tint.
