Who: Ashley Madekwe
Where: Lanvin And Living Beauty Host An Evening Of Fashion
Why we like it: Over the past year, we’ve seen many celebrities sporting bright and daring beauty looks with the eyes as a key feature. Now, it might be a bit of a leap to go straight into bold Lupita territory if you’re looking to get this look at home, but we love Ashley’s softer take on the colorful eye trend.
How to get it at home: Start with a base that will even tone without a mask-like texture, such as Guerlain’s Terracotta Joli Teint Foundation ($53). Next, brush through your brows and add subtle definition using hair-like strokes with a hard pencil, such as Clinique’s Brow Keeper ($16). Add a light flush to the cheeks with a cream blush, such as YSL’s Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Lips & Cheeks in 09 Rose Epicurien ($40), which is also perfect for adding a tint to your lips.
Then, get Ashley’s lavender eye with Clinique’s Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Plush Periwinkle ($17). Blend the shadow all across the lid, concentrating the color on the inner half of the lid and line the waterline and lash line with a dark gel liner, such as Urban Decay’s Super-Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner in Perversion ($22). Use a dry smudge brush to shade the liner across the outer third to create the smoky effect. Finish off your look with a volumizing mascara, such as Lashfood’s Conditioning Drama Mascara ($20).
