Regan Rabanal, senior artist for MAC Cosmetics, walked us through the makeup backstage. “Katie was inspired by a lot of organic shapes, pastels and natural tones,” Rabanal pointed out. “So Romero Jennings, director of makeup artistry at MAC Cosmetics, created beautiful porcelain skin to bring the idea of phantasm to life.” There was a ton of highlighting around the cheekbones and brow bones, a pearly mauve eye gloss went over the lids for a “glassy” polished finish and the eyes were lined with a red lip pencil to give models “a tired, but beautifully broken effect.”
