Top 7 Spring 2015 Makeup Trends from London, Milan and Paris
-
Graphic Liner
The cat eye is getting a graphic upgrade. Makeup artist Dick Page created the winged line at Celine by simply flicking out eyeliner with quick and sharp strokes. At Just Cavalli, liner was winged out at an angle along the bottom lash and at Saint Laurent, models were given a tough edge with their heavily lined eyes.
-
Glowy Skin
The no-makeup movement seemed to be the theme across Europe. At Isabel Marant, makeup artist Lisa Butler ensured that models' complexions looked naturally glowy, at Hermes, models' cheeks were highlighted to perfection and at Paul Smith, models looked like they had just rolled out of bed with the freshest skin ever.
-
Copper Lids
Lids and lash lines were covered in gold at Barbara Bui. At Balmain, makeup artist Tom Pecheux mixed rose gold with copper gold eyeshadow for a look that was inspired by the 80s and 90s. Models at Carven had simple makeup and a hint of bronzy shine over the lids created by makeup artist Nina Haverkamp.

Vampy Lips
From wine-stained lips at No. 21 to a lighter, cherry shade seen at Cedric Charlier, shades of red are coming this spring. At Dolce & Gabbana, Pat McGrath painted models’ lips with a seductive shade of bordeaux lipstick.
-
Smoky Eyes
The models at Chanel chose their own makeup — a smoky eye or natural makeup — and we love that some went for the bold look. In London, the makeup at Tom Ford was nothing short of sultry thanks to makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and a little bit of smudged eyeliner. Finally, at Roberto Cavalli, Pat McGrath added extra glamour to the makeup with metallic lids.
-
Bare Faced
It’s all about playing up your naturally gorgeous features when it comes to no-makeup makeup. Models with side-parted hair at Acne Studios had a smidge of rosy lip color, while at Louis Vuitton, some of the models (who weren’t rocking the extreme lashes) had the most beautifully contoured cheekbones. Our favorite was Bottega Veneta, where models' eyes were dusted with a champagne-colored eyeshadow and highlighter on the brow bone for an I-woke-up-like-this effect.
-
Lush Lashes
Lashes at Rochas were doll-like and the “double dotting” on the bottom lash line amplified the mod look. At DSquared2, models hit the runway wearing nerdy glasses over their fanned out black lashes. It took makeup artist Gordon Espinet 20 — yes 20 — coats of mascara to get this effect. Meanwhile, the lashes at Paul & Joe popped against the natural makeup for a refined look.
