Eyeliner How-To
-
Square Line
Seen at: Iceberg
How-to: This is a classic style that is meant to naturally define the eyes. Start at the inner edge of the upper lash line and close your eye to keep the line straight. You will want to wiggle the pencil in between the lashes when applying to make sure there are no white spaces.

Cat Eye
Seen at: Dolce & Gabbana
How-to: The winged tip is the most versatile and universally flattering look out there. Using an angled brush and waterproof gel for this is key. Using the brush, line from the inner to outer edge of the upper lash line and continue the line at a 45-degree angle when you get to the outer corner. Tip: Go along the natural shape of your eye for the most flattering effect and use a business card on the outer corner of the eye to help guide you when you draw the wing.

Smoky & Smudged
Seen at: Topshop Unique
How-to: This smudged out smoky look on the lower lash line is avant-garde, but still wearable. The key is to line the inner rim and along the bottom lash line, so that it is consistently smoky. Using a crayon will be your best bet, and smudge it out little by little using the other tip of this liner until you achieve your desired level of smokiness.

Graphic Lines
Seen at: Mara Hoffman
How-to: The shape on this is similar to the cat eye except there is an extra line that is lifted above the lash line, along the crease. Apply this liquid pen along the lash line and flick it out for a winged tip, and then draw the second line on the crease and connect the two on the outer edges.

Tight Lines
Seen at: Blumarine
How-to: This wraparound look is about lining the inner upper and lower rims and connecting the lines on the outer edges, and going as close to the inner edges as possible.
