Messy Top Knot
“Let your hair air-dry about 90 percent and add serum to the ends and along the hairline for shine and control like Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Cream in Oil ($45). Flip head down and shake out really well before gathering hair up and into a loose ponytail. Then twist the pony into a top knot shape at the very crown of the head and secure it with bobby pins. For the messy look, loosen sections from the sides and crown to create volume while the hair is setting.”

Effortless Waves
“Try the two pigtail twist trick. Part the hair into two pigtails on dry hair, then spray with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray ($42). Take each pigtail and section into two braids, securing at the ends with a hair tie. Sleep with the braids in overnight and in the morning, shake them out and apply more dry texture spray for volume for easy beachy waves.”

Classic Chignon
“Nothing beats a classic bun with a middle or deep side part to set the tone. Style this look by securing a low pony at the nape. Tease or backcomb the pony and use a hold spray. Wrap hair around the base of the pony and secure with two bobby pins. You can rub the hair at the base with the palm of your hand to give texture, pull up with your fingers for a little volume or spray and brush or comb back for a sleek look.”
