1. Light
I love the soft, flowy fashions and pastel hues that come out in the spring. For this light-and-ladylike look, I picked Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Carolina Coast. This pink shade reminds me of bubble gum and was exactly the color I’ve been looking for, but more importantly, it’s also highly pigmented. I’ve used light colors in the past that were either pigmented and dry on my lips or moisturizing but barely tinted. Available in six shades, this lip crayon is soft and hydrating, not glossy or sticky, and packs a major matte color punch.
2. Bright
A bright lip color is a lifesaver on days when I feel like I look plain. It just livens up my face instantly. Another reason to love a hot hue, the right bright can make teeth appear whiter. For this look, I chose Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiian Smolder. It’s a poppy pink that feels light and smooth on lips but like the other shade I tested, the color is very saturated.
The color and texture of these lip crayons has me quite happy, but there’s one more reason why I’m sold: Application is easy. Draw on the color and if you mess up, wipe it off. It’s far easier to wipe off then a lip stain or bright lipstick. I’ve had times when a lip slip caused me to redo a good portion of my makeup. These crayons are so easy to use that you’ll be coloring your lips while walking into wherever you have to be (or is that just me?).
