How-to: Using a liquid gold or rose gold pen, dab on the inner corners of the eyes and on the center of the bottom and top lash line.

Casual Cat Eye
Seen at: Celine
How-to: Take a more painterly approach to this casual cat eye by using a liquid pen option and simply flicking out the line at the outer corner of the eye at the top and bottom lash lines.

Ombre Effects
Seen at: Holly Fulton
How-to: Using a white pencil, line the waterline from the inner corner to the center, then use a bright or metallic blue pencil from the opposite direction and meet the white in the center.

Lived-In Liner
Seen at: Narciso Rodriguez
How-to: Taking a page from Dick Page's book of tricks, using a gel pot and a thin, angled liner brush, swipe a thick line from the center of the top lash line to the outer corner — same for the bottom — and use fingers to smudge it in for a sooty finish.

Bright Pop
Seen at: Peter Som
How-to: This vibrant look is easy to draw — just create a thick, diagonal slash at the inner (or outer) corner of the eye. If orange is a bit too intense for you, go for an emerald green or deep jade. Either way, the effect is statement-making.
