The 28 Most Memorable Beauty Moments From the Spring 2018 Runways
Perspex Ponies
As fabulous as the Perspex clothes were, it was the Perspex-wrapped low ponytails created by Sam McKnight that we couldn’t take our eyes off at the Chanel show. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux ensured the beauty look was just as captivating with 80s-inspired blue eyeshadow and red lipstick.
Put a Bow on It
There was no missing the supersized straw headbands at Delpozo with their Minnie Mouse-like bows. A swipe of Creamsicle orange eyeliner ensured that the makeup was not lost in the statement headwear.
Lots of Lashes
Makeup artist Polly Osmond made the lashes the focus at Christian Siriano with multiple coats of mascara. White, pink and black plaid-effect nails provided some new nail art inspo.
Groovy, Baby
Flower power! The 70s fashion trend translated to the makeup at Anna Sui with bright flowers painted across cheeks.
Pumpkin Spice
Pumpkin spice isn't just for fall. Cynthia Rowley's Spring 2018 runway featured the flattering orange shade across eyes. It was enhanced with a flattering pinkish nude lip color.
Pink Flush
Select models at the Valentino show had pink shadow swiped across their eyes and cheekbones. It could have looked totally 80s, but it actually had a modern romantic vibe.
Braids and Bows
Next-level hair accessories were a big trend on the Spring 2018 runways. The Bora Aksu show combined oversized bows with crisscrossing braids for a romantic finish.
Get the Glow
After the launch of Rihanna's Fenty Beauty , everyone was very excited to see the makeup look at the Fenty x Puma Spring 2018 show. Makeup artist James Kaliardos strobed skin using multiple shades from the line for an Instagram-approved glow.
Clump It Up
Put down that lash comb. Cushnie et Ochs was one of the shows that proved intentionally clumped mascara can actually look cool. The flirty makeup was topped with swirling buns perched high on the side of the head.
To the Root
Don't hide those roots ! At the Etienne Aigner show, roots were enhanced with a lick of contrasting color, including pink, red and white along the part line.
Crystal Eyes
Diamantés replaced makeup atDries Van Noten. Sparkly studs decorated eyes, lips and even part lines for a subtle sparkle.
Red Hot
Helmut Lang continued the popular ombre lip finish with burgundy outer corners and a cherry red shade in the center of lips.
Party Girl
Alexander Wang is known for his after-party look as much as his model-off-duty look. Fittingly, some models at the Spring 2018 show sported feathered crowns decorated with fun sayings guaranteed to get everyone in the party spirit.
Bright Blue Bob
Models at Fendi looked like they were sent from the future with bright blue blunt bobs on only half of the head. The statement hairstyle was complemented with a graphic cat eye shape.
All the Sparkle
Shimmer lovers will approve of the beauty look at Jeremy Scott. Fingers were dipped in silver glitter and accented with tangerine talons. For even more sparkle, diamantés were dotted under the eye.
Crowning Glory
Rodarte's baby's breath crowns and hair accessories will have no one complaining about florals being less than groundbreaking for spring.
Green-Eyed Gaze
Bold swipes of eye color were seen at quite a few runway shows. At Marni, eyes were enhanced with dazzling jewel tones, including emerald green and royal blue.
Bedazzled Black
Ashish normally has one of the most colorful and elaborate makeup looks of fashion month. Color took a back seat for Spring 2018, but the look still had plenty of drama thanks to black sparkles applied around the eye like a smoky shadow.
Red Eyes
There is eyeliner and then there is face liner like the makeup at the Ashley Williams Spring 2018 show. It may not be the most wearable look IRL, but it was definitely a standout. Not to mention that it's brilliant for Halloween.
Mother of Dragons
The Carmen Marc Valvo show had some clear Daenerys Targaryen vibes with the mix of braids and loose curls. Even if the models didn't have white blond hair, they still looked as good as the real Khaleesi.
Pastel Dreams
Manish Arora proved that pastel blue and mint eyeshadow can look fresh in 2017, especially when paired with a glossy lip and clumpy lashes.
Rosebud Pout
Blurred lips were a surprising trend at the Fall 2017 shows, but Elisabetta Franchi offered a new look with a swipe of rose pink lipstick placed in the very center of lips. Bronzed cheeks and natural eyes finished the flirty look.
Spell It Out
Concept Korea literally let the eyes do the talking with "perfectly imperfect" written across the eye area. The bold eye makeup was contrasted with a cotton candy pink lip color only applied to the bottom lip.
Put a Clip on It
Simone Rocha made everyone fall in love with barrettes again. Randomly placed spiky white clips elevated the schoolgirl hairstyle to edgy (and adult) heights.
Bold and Blue
The eye makeup at House of Holland was as colorful as the clothes with opaque shadow smeared from lids to brows. Mascara was omitted to let the bright shadow shine.
Black and White
The beauty look at Giorgio Armani was a mash-up of old and new with choppy haircuts and black and white eye makeup. The white shadow was blended out from the eye area down to the cheekbones and temples for a highlighter effect.
The Beat Goes On
Squiggle lips have been dividing makeup lovers on Instagram, but makeup artist Adam De Cruz at Eudon Choi got pulses racing with swirling eyeliner that was reminiscent of a heartbeat.
Line Time
Fun fact: Makeup artists at Lanvin used straws to recreate this textured eyeliner look. The rest of the face was left natural so as not to distract from the unique flick.
Disco Lips
Shrimps showed that the most head-turning lip look doesn't actually need any color, just a smattering of silver sparkles. It looked like a disco ball exploded over lips in the best possible way.
