Since New York Fashion Week kicks off fashion month, it provides a preview of possible trends . That includes both clothes and beauty. For Fall 2019, smoky eyes got a makeover, eyeliner turned negative and eyeshadow was bright and covered more than just lids.
When it came to hair, low ponies (including a spectacular braided version) and center parts reigned supreme. Wigs were used to amp up models’ manes at Anna Sui and Jeremy Scott, while the relaxed finger waves at Zimmermann were the definition of #hairgoals. And there was plenty of hair bling thanks to Christian Siriano and Area.
Here are New York Fashion Week Fall 2019’s best beauty looks you’ll want to copy ASAP.

NYFW Fall 2019 Best of Beauty
Jeremy Scott
Models’ chopped black wigs were painted white to match the designer’s black and white collection. Matte black shadow was added to eyes to toughen up the look.
3.1 Phillip Lim
We’re totally digging 3.1 Phillip Lim’s negative space eyeliner. Broken white arches were favored up top while underneath half lines of purple helped make models’ eyes pop.
ADEAM
It was pearl overload at ADEAM. In addition to pearl accents on the nails and pearl jewelry, models had mini versions placed on the inner corners of their eyes.
Tory Burch
We want to grow our hair out just to replicate the braided low ponies at Tory Burch. Hair was center parted and a few wisps were left out to frame the face.
Oscar de la Renta
Blurred lips aren’t going anywhere. We love the subtler take at Oscar de la Renta where makeup artist Tom Pecheux used bright red lipstick starting in the center, then dabbed an earthier shade around the edges.
Eckhaus Latta
An airbrush was used by makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench to apply shadow at Eckhaus Latta. Whether relying on a solitary shade or doubling up, the sprayed-on shadow was truly eye-catching.
Anna Sui
Now this is how you do punk the fashion way. Besides the vibrant wigs, models were treated to winged eyeliner and colorful arches that imitated brows.
Collina Strada
Because one pastel shade is never enough. The tie-dye style was painted all around the eyes and even covered brows.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh
We’re not sure which we love more: the watercolor blue eyeshadow or the knotted side pony. The black liner-drawn arches are also pretty cool.
Michael Kors Collection
The layered ombre shadow at Michael Kors Collection was an innovative take on smoky eyes. Lips were a subtle pink to keep the focus up top.
Area
The crystal headpieces really stole the show at Area. The sparkling hair decorations even extended down the back to cover the models’ low ponytails.
Brandon Maxwell
Designers are still going mod favoring Twiggy-style eyelashes. Here, the separated lashes featured some strategic falsies to enhance the 60s effect.
Zimmermann
Undone finger waves added a romantic touch to looks at Zimmermann. Glossy pink lips were the perfect complement.
Sally LaPointe
Skip pink or red lipstick in favor of plum this season. The moody lip color was paired with barely-there pink shadow for a unique finish.
Philipp Plein
Winged liner was redefined at Philipp Plein. The perfectly curved edges were extended to almost connect with models’ eyebrows.
Christian Siriano
Silver chains were woven into the crown at Christian Siriano. The long chains were then wrapped around the base of a low pony before falling down to decorate the length of the tail.
Chromat
Neon shadow morphed into blush at Chromat. The hot pink shade perfectly coordinated with the brand’s fluorescent collection. Orange or green lines added extra pops of color.
Ulla Johnson
Skip the shadow and use eyeliner to draw on navy arches on top and bottom a la Ulla Johnson. Just make sure you use thick strokes to really highlight your eyes.
Proenza Schouler
Smudged liner is nothing new, but leaving part of the eyelid bare is a novel idea. In this case, the thicker the liner, the better.
R13
R13 gave us the perfect long locks to go with our new grunge-heavy wardrobes .
Sies Marjan
Bright blue eyeliner along the lower lash line amped up the two-tone shadow on eyelids.
Tibi
Just a swatch of green shadow at the outer corners of eyes really made an impact.
Brock Collection
It was a rather romantic take on smoky eyes at Brock Collection. Thick liner on both the top and bottom offered a fresh spin on this runway staple.
