Now that we’ve properly fawned over all the gorgeous gowns that graced the 2020 Oscar red carpet, it’s time to set our sights on all the amazing Oscar beauty looks. Old Hollywood glamour ruled this year’s ceremony with wavy locks and grand updos a la Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh taking center stage. From pearls to headpieces, hair jewelry served as the crowning touch for some of the best ‘dos. And darker roots proved popular for a lot of blond bombshells.
When it came to makeup, red lips were the clear favorite. Stars like Margot Robbie, Janelle Monáe and Lucy Boynton all gave us crimson color. Another Oscar beauty trend? Dramatic lashes. Whether you prefer yours full of volume or more on the spidery side, many looks were all about the mascara. Sparkling shadow was also trending in both silver and gold. Full eyebrows framed plenty of faces, making us want to grow out our arches, no matter how long it takes.
While there were tons of stunning beauty looks at this year’s ceremony, we had the arduous task of narrowing down the top 10. So without further ado, here are the best Oscar beauty looks that almost upstaged the gowns.
