Given the current mandate to stay at home, actress, author and businesswoman Suzanne Somers, who’s 73 years young and wrote the new book A New Way to Age: The Most Cutting-Edge Advances in Antiaging, is spending more time doing two of her favorite things. “For one, I’m cozying up in NakedCashmere. I live in their cashmere sweatpants and hoodies! They’re so comfortable and soft. I have them in three colors: off-white, gray and black.”
Another must for Somers, especially in these uncertain times, is her daily green juice. “Every morning I start my day with a kale, spinach, apple, lemon and ginger smoothie. It’s delicious and no matter what I eat for the rest of the day, I know I’ve had at least two to three cups of organic fruits and veggies.”
No doubt it’s in large part this penchant for taking care of herself that has contributed to her seemingly ageless look. But it doesn’t stop at cashmere and green juice. Here’s a look at the five products Somers says she swears by to stay looking (and feeling) young.
5 Products Suzanne Somers Can't Live Without To Look Young
-
Epsom Salt
Epsoak Epsom Salt, $27.99 at Amazon
"Most nights I wind down with a soothing bath filled with Epsom salt. It’s an inexpensive product you can find at any drugstore. I soak in the bath for about 20 minutes and let the minerals like magnesium do their healing work. It helps to calm me before bed to ensure a good night’s sleep. And in the morning it keeps that digestive system running at an optimal level."
-
Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, $12.09 at Amazon
"I can’t live without it! Healthy fats are essential for good nutrition from the inside out! I cook with coconut oil — it's great for sautéing or frying because it holds up to high heat. I also take two to three spoonfuls a day to soothe and heal the digestive system. Plus, I use it as a beauty treatment on the ends of my hair before I go to bed as it helps smooth the hair shaft and repair split ends. Additionally, it works wonders on those little bumps we get on the back of our arms."
-
Waterproof Eyeliner
Thrive Causemetics Infinity Waterproof Eyeliner, $22 at Thrive Causemetics
"I love eyeliner! Lots of black eyeliner to stay looking young and vibrant. This is a staple for me."
-
Lip Liner
Thrive Causemetics Lip Filler Long Wearing + Plumping Lip Liner, $20 at Thrive Causemetics
"As we age, the lip line can get a little blurred from lip wrinkles. This pencil outlines the lips just right before I fill in with my favorite lipstick."
-
Lipstick
Suzanne Somers Suzanne Organics Sheer Satin Lipstick, $34.99 at Suzanne Somers
"Conventional lipsticks are likely to contain dangerous lead, which has been banned in the food supply, but is still allowed in cosmetics. My entire makeup line is free from harmful toxins, artificial dyes or fragrances and has no PEGs or parabens. This is my go-to lipstick color — the color is derived from cranberries, oranges and minerals."
