We’re always excited to see the clothing come down the runways (or showcased in the lookbooks) during fashion month. But we’re equally thrilled to see all the cool hairdos that top off said looks. And the Spring 2021 hairstyles definitely didn’t disappoint.
Wet-looking locks was the most prevalent theme. Chloe, Versace, Acne Studios and Sportmax all favored slick strands. Another trend? Bobby pins. There were subtle uses like at Francesca Liberatore and more OTT takes. Sam McKnight must have gone through several packs to produce the finger waves for Dries Van Noten.
We loved the Old Hollywood waves at Dolce & Gabbana along with the relaxed updos at Christian Dior. But our favorite look of the month came courtesy of Ports 1961. We’re obsessed with the piecey bangs and tucked strands combo.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2021
Guido Palau offered up two distinct styles for Dolce & Gabbana. While the polished chignons were pretty chic, we prefer the loose waves. Palau achieved the glamorous look by drying select models’ locks with the GHD Helios Hairdryer. Once smooth, hair was curled in small sections using the GHD Curve Classic Curl Iron, then pinned to set. After strands cooled down, they were brushed out into those covet-worthy waves.

Francesca Liberatore Spring 2021
If you don’t feel like using an entire pack of bobby pins a la Dries Van Noten, you should try this minimal approach. Models’ tresses were secured with just three sliders leaving some of their locks free to frame their faces.

Sportmax Spring 2021
The soaked strands at Sportmax had a more haphazard vibe. Like the models had just emerged from a dip in the pool.
