Amid all the Kardashian drama as of late, you may have missed Kylie Jenner’s super important breakfast update. Kylie recently took to her Instagram to share her morning diet. She revealed that a glass of celery juice is the first thing she consumes after waking up, 30 minutes before coffee and breakfast.
And as much as we trust the young influencer, we must ask: How important is celery juice for our diets? We know every fitness influencer on and off Instagram is drinking it, along with Jenna Dewan, Miranda Kerr and Debra Messing. But what can it do for us?
No conversation about celery juice is complete without referencing Medical Medium, aka Anthony William. You may have come across his Instagram, which has 1.6 million followers. William is self-described as the founder of the global celery juice movement. So when we ask why everyone is downing this green drink, William has the answer.
“Because celery juice, when consumed in the right way, is a powerful and miraculous healing remedy and people are noticing the benefits it provides, such as clearer skin, improved digestion, less bloating, sustained energy, better mental clarity, weight loss, and stable moods, just to name a few,” he writes on his official site.
At any rate, an extra glass of greens each day can’t hurt. Here’s everything you need to know about the reported benefits of celery juice.

Does It Help Anxiety?
Anthony William claims that besides reducing high blood pressure, gout, allergies and autoimmune conditions, celery can be very helpful in dealing with anxiety and even depression. Although medical experts warn that celery is not a substitute for medication, William has said time and again that celery is key to a more holistic form of mental healing.

It's No Cure-All
There's likely no harm in consuming a glass of celery juice in the morning, but experts warn that its benefits are not proven outside of anecdotal evidence. "I don't doubt that people with chronic illnesses, who perhaps feel failed by conventional medicine, try this and it does make them feel better. It's something they can do to try and help with their condition. There's no harm in having celery juice, but I wouldn't be advising people [to do it] instead of following advice from their doctor or any other medical professionals," Barrett claims.
