Change is in the air over at Stuart Weitzman HQ. It should go without saying that Mario Testino is out as campaign photographer (for obvious reasons), after 10 years with the brand. For Fall 2018, photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin have implemented a new creative direction by opting to capture the campaign in color, after years of Testino’s black and white photography. Kate Moss and Gigi Hadid are also out, in favor of Gisele Bundchen (a firm Weitzman favorite) and Doutzen Kroes as the pair poses on the studio floor.
Members of our forums flocked to the thread to witness the change. “Love seeing both legends together!” said elle_gb, showing the casting some love this season.
“Kinda 90s or 00s mixed together. I like this. Refreshing, if compared to those myriads of pseudo-conceptual or warm colored campaigns. Glamorous,” said dontbeadrag.
“This campaign is all kinds of amazing! Classic I&V,” mikel added.

In agreement over how well everything turned out was Benn98. “I really can’t bear Gisele generally, but what a lovely palate cleanser! Instant love from me,” he confessed.
Yet the campaign wasn’t appealing to everyone. “Christ those shoes are hideous. Pleased it’s not Gigi yet again though!” commented 333101.
“Although Gigi is overused, her campaigns with Testino were much better than whatever they are serving here,” replied an underwhelmed Zposen.
Perickles definitely wasn’t here for it: “I don’t like it. It’s very snob. Basically, they are telling us, we are expensive because we hired expensive models but the creativity is nowhere to be found. Those shoes are hideous and so are the bags. A typical campaign for model followers.”
“I actually really don’t like these. They all feel awkward and lacking creativity. Also I&V- just boring. boring. boring,” RMDV echoed.
