Laura Brown continues to put all mainstream American fashion glossies to shame. Since taking over InStyle back in 2017, she’s become a firm favorite on our forums, delivering gorgeous covers featuring the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Moore, Janelle Monáe and the cast of Big Little Lies. Fresh from the cover of Tatler, Elle Fanning is InStyle‘s new cover star for November 2019. The American actress rocks a look from the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2020 collection for the newsstand cover (below) and a floral Giambattista Valli haute couture number on the special subscribers’ cover (after the jump), both photographed by Pamela Hanson and styled by Samantha McMillen.
The newsstand cover was an instant hit with our forum members. “This is one beautiful cover! Elle has photographed beautifully, love what she’s wearing in the shot, how stylized and poised it is, too. The colors work wonderfully for November…cannot fault a single element,” applauded vogue28.
“I couldn’t agree more,” replied crmsnsnwflks. “I can’t find any fault regarding this cover. It’s one of the few instances where their cover works despite how simple it is. Great job, InStyle!”
“Laura is doing a great job. All THE covers of InStyle are so good,” approved caioherrero.

Also quick to show the cover some love was jorgepalomo: “Are we in agreement that Elle Fanning is absolutely winning this month?”
“It’s really nice and pretty,” shared FashionMuseDior.
Although not everyone was overjoyed with the outcome. “This is not bad, it’s quite good enough. Not too many things to nitpick about it,” critiqued SLFC.
“I find her so bland-looking. Not sure why people consider her such a beauty. In the eye of the beholder I guess,” commented A.D.C.
