We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. Model sightings on the covers of mainstream American fashion glossies are few and far between. Slowly but surely, editors seem to be hearing our pleas for change, including Nina Garcia. Musicians usually greet us on the covers of ELLE, but now the publication finally switches things up with actual models for August 2021 styled by Alex White. For cover number one (below) a gleeful Adut Akech wears a sequin look from Prada’s Fall 2021 collection captured by Chris Colls. While cover number two (after the jump) features Kendall Jenner decked out in a glitzy Celine Fall 2021 dress shot by Zoey Grossman.
Only one cover spoke to our forum members. “They just had to shove KenDULL down our throat. A solo cover with Adut is more than enough,” voiced mikel.
“Adut’s is great! Very Vogue Paris in the late 90s!” raved Lola701.
“Adut’s cover is the winner, obviously. The bold colors, makeup and overall composition is just such a throwback to classic late 90s magazine covers. Kendall looks heavily Photoshopped,” noted Benn98.

“Wait, what’s going on with Kendall’s face? The Photoshop makes her look like an elf,” Ken Doll Jenner pointed out.
“No surprise whatsoever to see Kendall Jenner delivering the same old lackluster and vapid facial expression, pose and energy. Nina Garcia couldn’t have just run with Adut’s cover allowing the monumental moment to sing out loud and clear,” stated vogue28.
Marc10 wasn’t impressed, either. “If I was Kendall’s agent I would really stop them booking her alongside these vastly superior models.”
“Adut’s cover is amazing. Her skin is glowing. She looks beautiful! As for Kendall, that’s going to be a no across the board,” disapproved GivenchyHomme.
