No other fashion house on the planet loves a brand ambassador more than Chanel. From Marion Cotillard to Penélope Cruz to Kristen Stewart to Angèle, Chanel has the crème de la crème and now adds Jennie to the roster with the unveiling of the Coco Neige advertising campaign for 2021. First announced as the face of Chanel Beauty in Korea back in 2018, the Blackpink singer replaces Margot Robbie posing for photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in the chic campaign images. Jennie showcases the collection dedicated to winter sports and just like the mainline Fall 2021 campaign, makes us want to hit the slopes.
Most members of our forums, however, weren’t feeling it. “It’s giving me Victoria’s Secret PINK,” stated KINGofVERSAILLES.
“Calling this cheap would be an understatement,” added avonlea002.
“Trashy, cheap and an embarrassing (and blatant) attempt to seduce the K-pop fans into buying Chanel cosmetics and perfumes. Let’s be honest, 99 percent of Blackpink followers are not going to be buying clothes and Chanel knows that perfectly well,” voiced Frederic01.

Nomar was in the same frame of mind: “Nothing but a cheap cash grab. She’s not high fashion material and never will be…”
“This is terrible, this isn’t Chanel at all,” commented SLFC.
But not everyone agreed. “I don’t mind Jennie for Chanel. They had Lily Allen so why not?” Lola701 pointed out.
“I think this is pretty decent actually. I don’t understand the aversion,” confessed Vitamine W.
“I’m also left unoffended by the campaign images and don’t mind Jennie as the face of Chanel. Once again, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin are proving themselves to be the perfect Chanel campaign photographers. The art direction is nothing short of flawless,” raved vogue28.
