Our love affair with ELLE France only continues to grow stronger. Week after week, issue after issue, we’re left completely besotted with whatever the French glossy throws our way. We have given covers with Jennie Kim, Gisele Bündchen and Malika Louback, Inès de la Fressange and Edita Vilkeviciute a standing ovation over recent weeks, and now the magazine’s editor Véronique Philipponnat surprises us with a cover starring Keiona. The winner of Drag Race France season two fronts the title’s latest dated September 28, 2023. In the delightfully fun and glam cover image, the French-Ivorian talent works the lens of photographer Philippe Jarrigeon and wears a glitzy crystalized dress from Alexander Vauthier, chosen oh so perfectly for the occasion by stylist Hortense Manga.
Members of our forums were simply thrilled with the cover. “WOW! Keiona’s truly unstoppable now! She deserves this,” raved crmsnsnwflks.
“Love this from ELLE! It is glamorous and bold. Unusual cover star for this publication. Not sure how it will be received by their readers but love that they pushing the boundaries yet still true to themselves,” appreciated forum member GivenchyAddict.
“This is major!” exclaimed Lola701. “I mean Drag Race was aired on prime time public television and it was a success but ELLE is really huge! A real risk! And all over the country, in province and all. This is the kind of celebratory and controversial covers that I like. It will shake the table and it’s super glamorous.”
[Piece Of Me] felt the same way, enthusing: “Yay! This is major indeed. What a star!”
