At least one person is pleased with news that Rihanna won’t perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Jourdan Dunn, whose name is curiously absent from this year’s lineup, took to Twitter to air her grievances with the show’s handlers. She deleted the post but not before her followers could screenshot it:
We never thought we’d see the day when Jourdan would rename the show “BS” and laugh (by way of her emoji) at the last-minute performance shuffle. The British supermodel walked in the last three shows and has appeared in several catalogs and ads for the brand.
Rumors are flying that she was replaced by newcomer Kendall Jenner, who joins bestie Gigi Hadid on the runway this year. Others are speculating that poor compensation, which reportedly led to Karlie Kloss’ departure, is to blame. No matter the reason, we’re as shocked as anyone to see Jourdan break ties with Victoria’s Secret as she was well on her way to wearing the fantasy bra (that honor instead goes to Lily Aldridge this year).
Something tells us the successful supermodel won’t spend much time dwelling on it. Afterall, she has her Balmain x H&M and Maybelline contracts to keep her happy.
