As part of their high-end photographic “Distinctively Dutch, Distinctively Nordic” auction, Christie’s will put-up for bid “Famous Faces of the Glamorous and Beautiful,” a collection of rare or sold out shots of supermodels and celebs (Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen, Christy Turlington Cindy Crawford, and Angelina Jolie among them).

The auction is being held on November 19th and will consist of 90-plus lots valued between £3,000 and £220,000 with the total sale estimated at around £1 million.
Among the items up for bid is a photograph taken by Martin Schoeller — Angelina Jolie with Blood in 2003 which is estimated at between £15,000-20,000, with the same estimate set for a shot of 17-year-old Britney Spears in Baby, 1999, by David LaChapelle for Rolling Stone and for Albert Watson’s oversized crouching nude, Kate Moss, Marrakech, January, 1993, which was commissioned for German Vogue.

The auction’s heavy hitter is Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), Marrakech, 1951 platinum-palladium print, printed 1983 signed, titled, dated and numbered ’21/40′, ‘3040’ in pencil, ‘Penn/Condé Nast’ copyright credit reproduction limitation and edition stamps on reverse of aluminium flush-mount 19.5/8 x 19.5/8in. (50 x 50cm.) which was taken by Irving Penn and is estimated to sell for between £180,000 to £220,000.
