Just recently, Hudson’s Bay announced its new 2014 Olympic Collection mittens, a cozy pair of bright red finger warmers that you’d typically expect to be emblazoned with maple leafs. But not wanting to be left in the cold this winter, Holt Renfrew has now also unveiled an exclusive mitten collaboration in aid of Movember.
British designer Sir Paul Smith, known for his bright colours and quirky stripes, has designed a pair of limited-edition mittens uniquely for this partnership, which are available only in Canada and only at Holt Renfrew. Every pair of the mittens purchased will help support the men’s health programs run by Movember, that is to promote prostate cancer awareness and male mental health initiatives in the area of education, awareness, research and survivorship.
The mittens will be available in two sizes and three designs inspired by the iconic Paul Smith stripes. They’re being priced at $50 and purchases of the cozy knits will help Holt Renfrew reach its goal of raising $100,000 for Movember.
“I’m famous for my stripes and so, it seemed like the perfect route to go down in terms of the design for these great mittens. We hope that you find them fun and cheerful and help to raise awareness and money for Movember, a very worthy cause,” says Sir Paul in a press release about the playful and practical accessory.
The Paul Smith mittens can be reserved for purchase through holtrenfrew.com now and will be available at Holt Renfrew and hr2 stores on Tuesday, October 15. I’m not sure for how long they’ll be available, however, not only do they make a great holiday pressie for the moustached male in your life, but they’re also in aid of a good cause! A win all around as far as I’m concerned, but here’s hoping we ladies get an equally stylish collaboration in aid of Armpits4August. It’s a thing.
