Photographed by Kenneth Willardt, the first large-scale preview shows Australian plus-size model Robyn Lawley (represented by Wilhelmina Models) reclining nude, the classic art pose updated with high-gloss hair and vampy makeup. The model poses wearing nothing but black stilettos as bunnies scale her naked body, conveniently concealing Lawley’s private parts.
Willardt has worked extensively in the fashion and beauty industries, notably as a campaign photographer for Maybelline and L’Oreal, where he produced campaigns featuring top stars like Beyonce and Gwen Stefani.
Lawley, a Ralph Lauren campaign model, first launched her career when she appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia (for the publication’s famous plus-size issue).
The exhibition opens on November 8 at 558 Gallery on West 21st Street in Chelsea, with a party hosted by Vs. magazine.
