She’s had her share of page time in Cosmopolitan Australia, so it’s about time Robyn Lawley scored her very own cover. Now the 6’2” Aussie stunner has done just that.
Managing to capture our attention in spite of some very Cosmo headlines and a shocking pink background, the coup is definitely deserved. The magazine previously cast her in December 2013 for a bikini shoot in which she wore her own swimwear line.
Scoring magazine covers is hardly a new experience for Lawley. In 2011, she scored the cover of Elle France (alone) and Vogue Italia (alongside Tara Lynn and Candice Huffine), and in that same year starred in a spread for Vogue Australia – the first time (welp) the magazine had ever shot a larger model.
The following year she was the first non-sample sized model to be hired by Ralph Lauren. And in 2013 she really cemented herself into the fashion zeitgeist, penning an article for the Daily Beast addressing the same dangerous “thigh gap” trend referenced here.
But this is the first time, to our knowledge, one of her covers hasn’t been tarred by the words “plus-sized.” Perhaps 2014 will also be the year Lawley gets a cover that makes no reference to her size at all?
