The Gentlewoman‘s Issue 9 cover, featuring designer Vivienne Westwood photographed by Alasdair McLellan, popped up in the tFS Forums early this morning and it is delightful, but that’s not surprising — the biannual London-based fashion journal’s black-and-white covers are typically standouts. Last Fall, The Gentlewoman appeared on newsstands covered by actress Léa Seydoux, wearing a simple black dress and a discreet, sensual gaze; this season, the publication swaps out the Ingenue for the Dame. In McLellan’s portrait, Westweed is vibrant and smiling and strong, she is the woman who ages but doesn’t get old.
