Kim Kardashian, Kanye West: It’s time to retire from Paris Fashion Week.
The shows are coming to a close, and while we’ve seen beautiful collections and stunning outfits, it seems that the couple’s exploits have overshadowed the fashion. Yes, Fashion Week is a media circus no matter where you go, but we’re starting to think that Kim and Kanye’s celebrity is causing more of a fuss at these events than need be.
Things started OK for the couple when they stepped out to see Balenciaga on Wednesday with their daughter North. But the week began to turn sour right before the Balmain show, when Kim was attacked by celebrity prankster Vitalii Sediuk, who attempted to pull the reality star to the ground as she made her way through a crowd of paparazzi and curious onlookers. At Lanvin, the pair held up the show for 40 minutes, which got them booed once they finally arrived. Kanye explained to the boisterous photographer pit that Alber Elbaz requested to see them pre-show, which is why they were so late.
The drama didn’t end there for the duo. The events of this week must have had Kimye’s bodyguards on edge because sources say that the couple’s security team got rough with attendees at last night’s Givenchy show. Apparently, the bodyguards were shoving fashion folk left and right, treating them like crazed fans as opposed to people just trying to go home after a late night at work. “One fashion editor didn’t move fast enough [at the exit] and was physically shoved by one of Kimye’s guards,” a guest told Page Six. “The guard threatened to punch her.”

Paris Fashion Week goers have reportedly come up with a name for the Kimye fatigue: fashion flu. “They hold up shows and they draw paparazzi wherever they go,” a source complained. “They’re seen here as the ultimate try-hards. It was funny when they were a novelty.”
Kanye is a man who claims to have the utmost respect for people who work in the fashion industry. If this is true, perhaps he should consider staying away from the runways next season, or at least attending shows separately. His family’s presence seems to cause more confusion than need be and turns every fashion show into a Kimye tabloid headline as opposed to the real focus, which should be on the designer and the clothes.
Poor North also looks fed up with her parents at PFW. The tot, who was wearing a sheer lace dress last night, screamed and cried through the Givenchy show as the paparazzi snapped photos of her burying her face into her mother’s bosom. Look at her, she’s miserable:

Not even her uncle Riccardo (Tisci) could console her. The kid was clearly tired. And it seems everyone else is. Sure, Kimye’s presence drives a ton of publicity to whatever house welcomes them, but is all the hubbub worth it? That’s for the designers to decide.
Next year, perhaps Kim and Kanye should consider private viewings of their friends’ collections, and leave the fashion set in peace.
