Which are the most popular beauty brands on social media? WWD has a list of all the top companies that folks have been talking about on the Internet. MAC took the top spot for “earned media value” at $110,576,016. This comes as little surprise as the brand puts out numerous collections per year, giving us all something to talk about. Apparently, much of the buzz came as a result of its collaboration with Rihanna.
NARS and Maybelline followed at $71,485,358 and $62,814,416 respectively. L’Oréal, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Revlon and Rimmel London rounded out the top 10, and Smashbox and Estée Lauder finished in the 19th and 20th spots. We have a feeling Estée Lauder could be in for a jump on social media mentions, now that it has named Kendall Jenner as a brand ambassador. If anything can get folks talking on social media, it’s the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
Indie labels got some love, too. Hourglass, Anastasia Beverly Hills, BECCA, Charlotte Tilbury and Julep were the top five most talked about, so keep your cat-eyes on them in 2015.
