An “insider” told Who that the couple tied the knot between Christmas and the new year in a “small and simple” ceremony, with only a handful of guests including Lara’s mum, Sharon, and brother, Josh. We’re not ones to simply believe said insiders or close sources who wish to remain anonymous, but there’s a lot of evidence to suggest that the Australian power couple have made their love official.
The rumour mill was in overdrive when Lara changed her name to “Lara Bingle Worthington” on her Instagram account and posted poem I Carry Your Heart With Me by E.E Cummings, commonly recited at weddings, around the same time. TV presenter Sally Obermeder was among the 470 comments on the post, writing, “@mslbingle congratulations sweetheart. Wishing you every happiness XX.”
Another high-profile name, former Sass & Bide designer Heidi Middleton, also sent well wishes on social media, this time on a shot of footprints on the beach Lara posted with the caption “Last Swim #2014.” She wrote, “HNY BEAUTIFUL @ the biggest congrats on your union of LOVE! Woohooo! Hail love! @msbingle Hx.”
To add fuel to the fire, Avatar star Sam was noticeably missing from Sydney’s Paper Planes premiere this week, and Lara keeps us guessing with shots from Paris, Istanbul, Sydney and the Maldives posted to her Instagam over the past week. We think we know where they are, though, and that’s in a little place we like to call love. Cringe.
The couple met in September 2013, and it would be music to our ears to have confirmation of the nuptials. We wouldn’t want Lara to face another broken engagement a la Michael Clarke, and, rumour is, there’s a little Worthington-Bingle on the way. But, don’t worry, we’ll be listening to the grapevine and little birdies for any goss around the potential pregnancy too.
